Keanu Reeves Confirms He And Winona Ryder 'Have Been Married For 30 Years'
A pretty iconic pair to be fair!
In a bizarre turn up for the books, it seems that Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder may actually have spent the last 30 years married to each other.
As iconic a partnership as this would be, the actors are not romantically involved with each other - with Reeves in a long-term relationship with artist Alexandra Grant, and Ryder with partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.
However, they do believe that they genuinely got married while filming for Bram Stoker's Dracula, directed by Francis Ford Coppola all the way back in 1992.
During one scene in the movie, Reeves and Ryder's characters - Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray - are seen taking their vows, with the stars since revealing that they used ‘real priests’ during filming, meaning they are arguably married in the eyes of God.
During an interview with Esquire last year, Reeves said: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are [married] Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”

Ryder also spoke about the incident in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2018. “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God I think we're married in real life,” she said.
“In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we're married.”
The pair have remained friendly since working together with Ryder previously speaking about their friendship, and even sharing one particular story to highlight why he is regarded as one of Hollywood’s good guys.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, the actor explained that during a scene in Dracula, Coppola had urged Reeves and a bunch of other actors to hurl abuse at her in order to make her tears seem more realistic.
The scene in question saw Dracula, brilliantly portrayed by Gary Oldman, transforming into a pile of rats, while a horrified Mina looked on.
During filming, Coppola stood behind the camera, shouting abuse at Ryder in an attempt to make her reaction more believable.
“To put it in context, I'm supposed to be crying,” Ryder explained. “Literally, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu... Francis was trying to get all of them to yell things that would make me cry. But Keanu wouldn't, Anthony wouldn't ... It just didn't work. I was, like, really? It kind of did the opposite.”
Ryder said in the interview that, despite the incident, she and Coppola are on good terms and that it really solidified her friendship with Reeves - married or not!
