The TikTok star who recently overtook Charli D'Amelio as the most followed TikToker is renowned for his speechless videos in which he comically reacts to trends and 'how-to' videos solely with his facial expressions.

Lame's deadpan reactions are at the core of his hilarious persona, earning him icon status on the social media platform.

Discussing his much-loved content last year, the Senegalese YouTuber and TikTok personality explained his videos capture a 'global language', saying: “It’s my face and my expressions which make people laugh." So essentially, Lame has achieved this success and following without uttering a single word in any of his videos... until now.

The internet is going wild thanks to a recent clip which features the star speaking on his success.

In the viral video, the 22-year-old says: "In one month I got nine views, and two subscribers."

These ten spoken words have baffled his viewers, with one user writing: "Wtf he is speaking," and another saying: "The first time I hear his voice."

Lame has previously addressed his non-verbal approach to content, telling CNN: "I came up with the idea because I was seeing these videos circulating, and I liked the idea of bringing some simplicity to it.

"The type of gesture came by chance, but the silence didn't. I thought of a way to reach as many people as possible. And the best way was not to speak.

"Maybe because my facial expressions are funny and they make people laugh, this simplicity makes people laugh and I love it."

Just last week, Lame's account became the most followed account on TikTok, boasting an incredible 145.1 million followers and counting.

He managed to dethrone the Queen of TikTok, 18-year-old Charli D'Amelio, as his fans campaigned to get Lame to the top spot by successfully making the hashtag '#KhabyToNumberOne' trend on the platform. He found fame when he began making videos during the pandemic after losing his job as a factory worker.
