In news that will come as a disappointment to thousands of fans, Netflix, after just one series it seems that Netflix has cancelled Kaos.

Despite the Jeff Goldblum fronted series being one of the top shows on the platform - even topping Netflix global charts for a period - Variety has now confirmed the news after actor, Aurora Perrineau, had hinted at the cancellation on Instagram.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Perrineau, who plays Eurydice in the show, wrote: “Well… this one hurts. I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try.

“When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all - every flaw, everything.

“For one of the first times in my life, I have found myself really proud. I’m, of course, proud of everyone’s work and the care they gave to this project, because, let me tell you, they left everything on the floor.

“But I’ve also found myself proud of me, and that is something I’ve struggled with.

“When I got cast, I couldn’t believe that someone SAW me. A girl who’s not only a minority but also a survivor of SA - and you’re telling me that someone thinks I could be one of the leads of a show, have agency, my own mission, and be desirable enough to be the love interest to not only one amazing human but two?

“I was worthy of that? Everything that happened from that point forward really changed my perspective.”

While no reason for the cancellation has yet been confirmed, the news has baffled fans after Kaos received an impressive score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 7.5 on IMDb.

When previously asked about the possibility of further seasons, creator Charlie Covell said: “The idea is three seasons in total. So, that's what I have kind of in my brain... I would love to do more.

“There's lots of things forming. I've got an idea of what the plot is. But no, there's no script, just lots of fevered documents and stuff that only I would probably understand at this point. But the main story is clear in my head.”

A darkly comedic, epic adventure that brings the gods, heroes, and monsters of Greek myths into the present day, Kaos sees the familiar tales of Zeus, Hades and the other Olympian gods given a contemporary twist.

At the heart of it all is the king of gods, Zeus. Played by the legendary Jeff Goldblum, and reimagined as a paranoid leader who is losing his grip on power. A twist on the classic myth, sees Zeus becoming increasingly insecure and fearful, believing a prophecy that hints at his impending downfall.

Goldblum’s casting has been a particular highlight for fans, with one writing: “This show is unbelievable. Please watch Kaos to make sure it doesn't get canceled by Netflix. You will never view Jeff Goldblum the same way, I promise you that.”

Kaos is available to watch on Netflix.
