Forget medals. Forget protein shakes. Forget those slightly questionable bananas waiting for you at the finish line.

A brand-new 10K race in Italy is offering something far more motivating: unlimited tiramisu. Yes, really.

The world's first-ever Tiramisù Run is taking place in Treviso, Italy, this October, giving runners the chance to jog through one of the country's most picturesque cities before rewarding themselves with as much of the iconic dessert as they can handle.

Suddenly, Couch to 10K sounds a lot more appealing.

Running? For dessert? Count us in

TIRAMISU-10K

The event will take place on 11 October 2026 in Treviso, a charming city around 30 minutes from Venice that's widely regarded as the birthplace of tiramisu. The route winds through the city's medieval streets, canals and historic squares before finishing at what might just be the greatest finish line in sporting history.

Waiting for participants at the end? Fresh tiramisu.

Lots of it.

The non-competitive event is designed to be accessible for runners and walkers alike, meaning you don't need to be chasing a personal best to take part. In fact, the whole thing feels less like a race and more like an excuse to combine sightseeing, exercise and one of Italy's most famous desserts.

Which, if we're honest, sounds like a pretty perfect weekend.

Why tiramisu?

TIRAMISU1

Treviso takes its tiramisu very seriously.

The city has long claimed to be the dessert's birthplace, with many tracing its origins back to the famous restaurant Le Beccherie, where a version of the coffee-soaked, mascarpone-filled masterpiece was reportedly created decades ago. While the true origins are still hotly debated across Italy, Treviso has fully embraced its reputation as the spiritual home of tiramisu.

And that's not all.

The Tiramisù Run is happening alongside the annual Tiramisù World Cup, an international competition where dessert enthusiasts and pastry chefs battle it out to create the ultimate version of the beloved sweet treat.

Basically, if you love tiramisu, Treviso is the place to be.

How much tiramisu are we talking?

TIRAMISU3

Officially, every runner gets a serving of tiramisu included with their entry.

Unofficially? Event organisers and media reports suggest there'll be plenty more available for those wanting to celebrate their achievement properly. After all, this isn't your average race.

The event is limited to 1,000 participants, with places expected to disappear quickly thanks to a combination of viral attention and the fact that "run 10K, eat tiramisu" is perhaps the easiest race pitch ever created.

We've seen races that reward runners with medals, T-shirts and bragging rights, but a finish line loaded with tiramisu? That's a level of motivation we can get behind.

So if you've ever wanted to combine fitness goals with dessert goals, Italy's Tiramisù Run might just be the sweetest sporting event on the planet.

Now excuse us while we start training.
