With many of us probably having indulged in one or two glasses of lemonade last night, no doubt there are some tasty hangover doing the rounds today - but we may have found something to help you out…

Posting on her profile, Wellness with Sakshi, the health and lifestyle coach says that she uses an acupuncture tool - although a pen will work just as well - and some simple massage techniques to soothe her aching head.

In the video, Sakshi can be seen massaging different areas of her face including her nose, cheekbones and eyebrows with the tool.

The caption for the video reads: "Next time you've had too much to drink and wake up feeling that hangover, try massaging each of these reflex points for one to two minutes.”

Mapping out her face as she demonstrated the massage, she says: “I added these two points on the right side of my face for liver and gallbladder.

"This will help ease the hangover by suppressing the effects of alcohol."

Sakshi does go on to say that the best way to avoid a hangover is not to drink alcohol in the first place - but since it’s too late for that this technique definitely seems like it’s worth a try!

And it seems like people have been pretty keen to give it a go, as the vid has now been viewed over 400,000 times, with many thanking Sakshi for her tip.

There is some method to Sakshi's tips, with the areas the is focusing on being recognised acupressure points that are commonly used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture is a form of medicine which largely stems from historical practice and ancient Asian medicine. The evidence around it is contested by some, but many people - including medical experts - still swear by it as a cure for headaches alongside many other ailments today.

But according to the NHS, the best ways to treat your hangover are to rehydrate your body by drinking plenty of water - the best time to do this is before you go to sleep after drinking - and to take over-the-counter painkillers like paracetamol to help with headaches and muscle cramps.

Sugary foods may help you feel less trembly, while antacids can help to settle your stomach first.

Healthy foods are good for topping up your depleted resources while they advise against the ‘hair of the dog’ practice of drinking more alcohol as this can just put off the hangover and further dehydrate you.

We’ll get through it.
