Every iPhone That Won't Be Able To Run New iOS Update
If you've got an older iPhone, you probably won't be downloading iOS 18...
It seems that AI is everywhere nowadays, and that includes the new, eagerly-anticipated AI-assisted iOS 18 update.
Due for general release in the autumn, but already available on beta, the new operating system update is promising all sorts of developments - and has also got iPhone users wondering if their phone will support it - and if you've been holding onto your iPhone for a good few years, you might not be in luck.
But first of all - What’s new in iOS 18?
Branded one of their ‘biggest ever’ updates, with the introduction of new AI technology called Apple Intelligence, Apple has signed a deal with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into Siri, meaning that you'll be able to type in queries rather than just talking out loud to Siri - which will reportedly be getting its own big upgrade in language skills and prompt recognition.
The new system will also reportedly include the ability to lock certain apps and hide them in a ‘hidden apps’ folder - which some people have said will makes your phone a 'cheaters' paradise’…
It will also feature the ability to move your apps freely around the home screen for a more personalised look, rather than having them locked in rows and columns.
But will you be able to access all this?

The new update comes after Apple announced many of its more older models were now ‘obsolete' with replacement parts now unavailable.
