Fitness Expert Shares Army Technique To Fall Asleep In Two Minutes

A fitness expert has shared a 'mind-blowing' tip to TikTok, claiming it can get people to fall asleep within just two minutes.
If your mind goes into overdrive when your head hits the pillow and trying to get to sleep becomes a chore, this one could be for you.
Justin Agustin recently shared the tip in a short clip, introducing the method as a 'military proven technique' to fall asleep just two minutes after closing your eyes.
He explained: "This technique was developed in the military to allow soldiers to fall asleep at any time, any place - even on the battlefield when the environment is extremely uncomfortable and there’s a lot of noise happening.
“Sleep for a soldier is crucial. According to my research, this was developed mainly for fighter pilots who need 100 percent of their reflexes and focus, which we all know decreases with the lack of sleep."
The idea is to completely relax the body from head to toe. Agustin says: "Start by relaxing the muscles in your forehead.
"Relax your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw and focus on your breathing. Now go down to your neck and your shoulders.
"Make sure your shoulders are not tensed up. Drop them as low as you can and keep your arms loose by your side, including your hands and fingers."
You want to imagine a warm sensation going from your head right the way through to the fingertips. He continues: "Take a deep breath and slowly exhale, relaxing your chest, your stomach, down to your thighs, knees, legs and feet.
“Again, imagine this warm sensation going down from your heart all the way to your toes. While you’re doing this, it's really important to clear your mind of any stresses."
To do this, Agustin says, you should think of two scenarios; the first includes picturing yourself lying in a canoe on a calm lake with nothing but a clear blue sky above, and the second involves imagining yourself lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch black room.
Agustin adds: “At any time when you start thinking of anything else or you start getting distracted, repeat these words for 10 seconds: ‘Don't think, don't think, don't think.’”
He recommends trying the technique every night for six weeks, claiming that 96 percent of people who master it are actually able to fall asleep within two minutes of shutting their eyes.
Viewers were more than keen to give the method a go, with a number commenting on their own experiences: "My doctor taught me this technique with slight variations when I had insomnia due to PTSD. Trust me it works 100% once you get it down," one said.
