Kid Puts Family To Shame By Solving Baffling Maths Question In Seconds
How did he get that so fast!?
A young boy has left his family in awe after managing to solve a 'baffling' maths question in just seconds.
TikTok user @xivecct75 recently shared a clip of the family being presented with the maths question, with the person speaking telling the young boy and his family member (who we assume is his mum): "With one line, I want you to make this addition equation correct."
The equation has recently been circulating online as others attempt to crack it, but a young boy has put the majority of people to shame by quickly getting to grips with the puzzle.
When most people are told they can add only one line to the addition to make it correct, they assume this 'line' will represent the number one.
But the young boy, who stuns his family at the end of the video by revealing his answer before saying: "That's easy," clearly realises there's more to it than that.
READY FOR THE NEW UNI YEAR?
The incorrect sum they're presented with initially reads: "5 + 5 + 5 = 550."
Using just one line, his mum begins attempting to solve the puzzle, but she soon realises that the equation doesn't make sense no matter where she places the number one.
In two minutes, the boy - who is quietly sitting next to her as she considers her options - reveals how to solve it, simply adding an extra line to the first '+' symbol to transform it into a number '4'.
This makes the equation instead read: "545 + 5 = 50."
Even after recruiting the help of her elder son and attempting to change the '=' sign into a 'does not equal' sign, their mum is unable to crack the baffling sum.
But the youngster seemingly finds it as simple as ever, barely batting an eye as he shows them how it's done.
TIkTok viewers have flurried to the comments section to weigh in on the puzzle and the boy's ability to work it out, with one user writing: "That boy is me. Come on, this is easy!"
Another added: "Wow....that was incredible." A third agreed with the mum's initial attempts, writing: "I was thinking draw a line through the equal sign. to make an inequal sign."
Some, however, were convinced the whole thing was staged, with one person commenting: "The acting is impeccable. Oscar for both the lady and for the camera work to make it look action packed!"
